I went out to the farm today to check on our friendship garden and was pleased to see the first set of leaves on the radishes standing tall as they poked through the soil. I could see the red of each root as it went into the soil - just waiting to start forming their little bulbs.
The edible flowers were just poking through the soil.As were the long, white radishes.Torrie took his position in the deep grass next to our friendship garden and watched as I watered the delicate plants.Small pools formed in the soil at the base of the tiny plants and each seemed to grow just a little stronger as I gently sprayed them with the water.

After that, I was off to the Big Rock Garden Park for a concert by David Weiss & Friends. You can hear David Weiss on July 26th at 11:00 a.m. at The Bagelry, 1319 Railroad Avenue, Bellingham, Washington; and again at 2:00 p.m. on August 9th, on the first day of the La Bella Strada festival and the annual Chalk Art Fest along Cornwall Avenue in downtown Bellingham.
